Since the Teen Mom series has aired, there has been a lot of controversy over certain cast members and their actions. Fans and critics of the show have been outraged by certain antics and wondered why MTV did not cancel the show or at least kick certain cast members off the air.
One cast member, Jenelle Evans, has been in and out of jail at least ten times for drugs and partying. She lost custody of her son Jace to her mother when she demonstrated she could not take care of him. During the last year, fans and critics alike were outraged by her behavior and demanded MTV kick her off the show or cancel Teen Mom 2.
No one knows what MTV actually said to their cast member, but Jenelle did enter rehab for marijuana in 2012. It seemed to do her little good as she was then battling a heroin addiction later that year and into 2013. Finally in mid 2013 she seemed to have finally turned over a new leaf for good, after meeting a new boyfriend named Nathan Griffith. She kicked her heroin addiction, and settled down into a stable relationship. She is now currently pregnant, and is supposedly getting custody of her son Jace back sometime this year.
Farrah Abraham is another Teen Mom cast member with several issues. After Farrah's season of Teen Mom ended, she seemed to be doing fine, with selling books and a hot sauce line. Suddenly in the spring of 2013 news came out that she suddenly had an adult film out. It was a shock to everyone, as no one expected her to do such a thing. Farrah then seemed to ride a crest of fame which included hosting events at gentlemen's clubs and even promoting a sequel! Again, there is no word as to what producers and the higher-ups think, but supposedly there will be a special airing soon explaining what she is up to now.
MTV seems to only care about ratings. The behavior of some its reality tv stars is completely out of line, but they have been silent about it. Some fans have said they no longer want to watch, disgusted by what they have seen. Hopefully these young ladies will grow up in mature adults, and realize that drugs and partying are not great ways to live your life.
