While many books have been written on thyroid subjects, there are always aspects in regard to symptoms, treatments and new research that have not been covered, especially with the fact that continued advancements are being made by the medical community.

Personal story thyroid books are also interesting due to the fact that patients are individuals and each story always contains a few unique things in it. These personal story books always relate to certain readers who can identify with some of the struggles and successes the author has gone through. Readers can also be inspired by the success aspect of the author’s story, when they read about treatments that improved their symptoms or ways they found for better coping with their thyroid disease.

I have read a few books in the past that I really enjoyed for the reasons I state above but also because the books included information about common co-morbid conditions that affect thyroid patients. Books that include information about other autoimmune diseases thyroid patients are at higher risk for developing are of interest to me, as well as those that cover other co-morbid conditions that are common. I also like seeing statistics quoted from reputable medical research groups and sources as well, to give more legitimacy to the subjects that are covered in a book on thyroid disease.
