More Tested Products and Their Results

I was given a couple of products to test on my vehicle. I was not impressed at all with the results. As I always say, just because a product is cheaper or more expensive does not determine how effective it is. I did this by comparison of two tires on the same side of my car. Incidently, I just purchased new tires for the upcoming winter.

The first product I tested was Turtle Wax Wet N' Black Tire Dressing. I was glad to see a bigger bottle and the price wasn't bad either. I cleaned my tires and wiped the dry and sprayed a liberal amount on each tire and I was amazed by the shine--temporarily. Just minutes later, the gloss appeared to have either run off or absorbed into the tire. I didn't even get a glazed look from this product. I like a shine on my tires--it gives the car a totally polished look. Too often, I see cars and trucks with clean finishes and dirty tires and rims--that's like wearing a nice suit with dirty shoes! Of course, that's just my opinion. I was not impressed with this product and I do not recommend it as a tire shine implement but if you are using it and you like--keep using it--it did not work for me.

Second, I tested Turtle Wax Formula 2001 Wheel Cleaner. I usually don't use wheel cleaner as a rule because I keep my rims clean and grime-free at all times--even in the winter. By doing this, I don't worry about my brakes, rotors or corrosion on my rims. This test I did on our Jeep. I washed the wheels at the car wash with high powered soap, rinsed then dried with a towel. I inspected the wheel's surface found rust colored stains in the crevices and thought these areas were my focus. The bottle claims it works on all wheel surfaces. I sprayed a generous amount on stained areas of the wheels and let it set for a few minutes. It seemed to run off rather quickly and I did not see any of the rust stains fade--not even a little bit. I sprayed on more and waited another five minutes, then I rinsed with a high powered sprayer and I am not exaggerating when I say that there was NO DIFFERENCE! I wasn't surprised though. There are SO MANY products out there that don't even scratch the surface when it comes to detailing--we know this because we have tried these products and have not gotten any results! Chalk it up to a lesson learned and a continuation of our search for what really works and stick with it. Again, if you use this product and it works for you, by all means keep using it. It did not work for me.

In conclusion, I must remind you that these products did not work for me. What works for some, may not work for others. Till next time, keep shinin'!
