The Saturday before Halloween, my car was egged! It was only one egg, but one egg is too many! Naturally, I was horrified, upset ready to wage war. But then, it occured to me that I WAX REGULARLY. Therefore, I KEEP a protective coat of wax on my vehicle. (I could still hear a voice in my head saying that eggs will eat right through the paint's finish!) So I immediately went to the self-serve car wash and sprayed soap directly on the dried egg on my driver's side door. The egg came right off and there was no evidence of any egg ever being there! As anyone would imagine, I was relieved! I waited until my car was dry before I inspected it again and still no egg evidence! Phew!
My next step was to apply a fresh coat of wax to my vehicle. I washed it again in the area where the egg was and I terry towel dried it. I then applied a light coat of Meguiar's Scracth X because the egg's shell left some minor scratching. I wiped the Scratch X off with a clean towel and I could instantly see clear results! At this point, I am elated. I then applied the Deep Crystal Wax wax with a clean terry towel--just a very light coat--this stuff is awesome! My finish is mirror perfect! I wish you could see it!
In conclusion, I let my emotions get the best of me. I was really upset--maybe because I love my car, but mostly because of the carelessness of pranksters who have no respect or regard for other people's property. Although I wouldn't wish this on anyone and I hope it never happens to any of you. I'm glad I take the time to wax my vehicle and by doing so, I am protecting my finish from every element that could damage it. A big "shout out" to Meguiar's!
Till next time, keep shinin'! Marie
