There are several quick variations of Poker that can be played by anyone, even those that don't understand poker. There are no calls, raising or checks; just basically straight playing of cards. Hands are scored just like regular poker hands.

These two games make wonderful lessons to be used to teach newbies the scoring of poker. One thing they need to do is master hand ranks and scoring. Sometimes games can make teaching and learning fun.


LUCK OF THE DRAW POKER
A dealer is chosen at random. Eight cards are dealt face down to each player. Play begins to the left of the dealer.

Players take a chance with face down cards on their best poker hands. It is a chance, as there is no strategy to be used since the cards are face down. Three cards will be eliminated from each player's hand.

There are two ways to play this and the way you play needs to be decided before you start the game. Each player can throw their three extra cards to the edge of the table used to collect non-playable cards.

The other choice would be for everyone to exchange three cards with the player on their right hand side. Should you choose to play with the cards being exchanged, then everyone would be given another time limit to change cards if they felt like doing so.

When everyone is ready to show their poker hands of 5 cards; at the same time, everyone turns up the 5 cards they wish to play. This is strictly a game of chance and luck.

TWO CARDS UP POKER
A dealer is chosen at random to deal 5 cards to each player. Any two cards are dealt face up to each player and left face up for the remainder of the hand. Everyone will be able to see two cards in everyone's hands.

The other three cards are dealt face down and are to be picked up and not shown to the other players. The total of the 5 cards are to be taken into consideration when you bet your hands.

Only one bet amount is thrown into the pot per player. This amount will be decided on before the game begins. There are no calls, no raising, no checks, etc.

Whoever has the best poker hand wins the game and the pot.
