Free Project - Christmas Bauble

To get you stitching for Christmas, I've done a quick freebie for you. This chart can be used for cross stitch, canvaswork, or any other counted thread medium.

To download the chart, right click on the picture, and select "save picture as", then print it out on your own printer. The picture will save at it's full size. If you would like a black and white chart please e-mail me.

If you would like a paper copy of the chart, plus the instructions, they can be ordered for $1US (covers the paper and cost of postage - it costs $1.80AUD to post to the US and UK from Australia). The pack will include a colour chart, a black & white chart, and the Pattern Information. Again, all you need to do is e-mail me and I will send you the details for payment.

Ok - now, on to the details.

First - here's the chart:
Pink Bauble

I've charted it using DMC Stranded Cotton, but you could use any threads you like. It's sitched using 2 strands of cotton - and it's up to you to decide over how many threads (it all depends on what you are using). The colours you will need are:
  • 3607
  • 601
  • 3804
  • 3726
  • 823
  • 823
  • 934
  • 3781
  • 646
  • 778
  • 783
  • Mill Hill Beads, number 02059 (Gold)
To give it a bit of sparkle, why not mix a strand of Kreinik Blending Filament (in any colour you wish) with your thread.

The background is stitched - however if you stitch it on black fabric, you won't need to stitch that.

To make it even more interesting, instead of stitching the hanging string, why not couch some gold cord, or backstitch using a metallic thread?

For more suggestions, why not just stitch the bauble itself for a hand-made Christmas Card or Gift Tag?

Why not post a picture of your finished project in the Forum so that we can all admire it?

Is there anything that you would particularly like to see an article on? If so, please e-mail me with your suggestions.
