I picked up a copy and studied it as the author prescribes - one chapter a day for forty days. For the first several days, I wondered where exactly Mr. Warren was heading, thinking that the teaching was pretty basic. It was somewhat less than I wanted in a Bible Study.
However, as the days and chapters passed, the pieces began to fit together into what turned out to be a biblically based plan for my life.
By the thirtieth day I realized that the book was much more than I had expected. It was supplying the tools I needed to continue my walk with Christ - with purpose.
This is not a book about discovering your spiritual gifts. You’ve probably studied those before. This book speaks of God’s divine purpose for each believer’s life.
I recommend it for every Christian who feels the desire to do ‘more.’ Rick Warren explains each purpose in easy to understand language, fully biblically based - using over 1,200 scriptural quotes and references, making it usable and relevant for contemporary Christian life.
334 pages divided into:
Forty chapters explaining what God wants for His children, ending with a "Point to Ponder", "Verse to Remember," a personal "Question to Consider."
Discussion questions in the back of the book for use in a small group or Sunday school class and
Scripture references for each day’s study.
Rick Warren is the founding pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, one of America’s largest and best-known churches.
