Holiday Greetings to My Daughter’s Birth Father

Would you believe that the life that you helped create over 10 years ago is quickly growing into a charming young lady? Each day with her in our lives is a wonderful adventure. We enjoy sharing our interests with her, and her interests have opened our eyes to new worlds.

We love her dearly, as do her grandmothers (both of them spoil her!). Her Papaw is watching over her from Heaven now, but he loved her so very much; and she has many cherished memories of special times shared with him. Unfortunately, she has no first cousins but is close to some of her third cousins and enjoys seeing them several times a year. As a typical pre-teen, she enjoys getting together with her friends, or simply talking on the phone (especially three-way calling!).

We have built a relationship with her birth mother and siblings over the years, and we all enjoy occasional phone conversations. This openness and sharing has so far been a very positive experience for all of us, especially the children.

She is an active little girl who is full of life and enthusiasm. Through the years she has been involved in dance, gymnastics, basketball, cheerleading, and soccer. She also likes to go fishing with her Dad. But her true love seems to be horses. Yes! She shares YOUR love of horses! She began riding about a year ago and hopes to have her own horse someday. She says wants to barrel race. Her love of horses is so contagious that we have fallen in love with these beautiful animals, too!

Actually, she loves all animals. It’s often difficult to go into a pet store with her and not leave with some sort of critter! Currently her pets include two guinea pigs, a 2-year-old mutt, and a baby hamster, as well as both fresh- and salt-water fish.

She’s a bright and beautiful little girl, who generally does well in school. Her favorite classes are history, science, and choir. She attends a small Christian school. Although she has 3-4 close friends, she tends to get along very well with all her classmates, as well as her teachers.

She loves going to church and asked Jesus into her heart about five years ago. This year she is helping her mom teach preschoolers in Sunday School.

Sometimes she asks about you, and we share with her the limited information that we received from the adoption agency. Even though we may never meet you personally, we want you to know that our precious daughter is healthy, happy, active, and loved. We are forever grateful for your choice of adoption so many years ago.

May God bless you and always keep you in His loving care.
