On Saturday night, way late, a family in LaPlace got robbed of their outdoor tree by an unknown thief.
The 6-foot white-colored Christmas tree sculpture had been purchased by the Rivers family at Big Lots for a sale price of only $8.88. What made this tree sculpture way special to the family was that it had been personally picked out by the Rivers three young children.
Irvin and LaSoyna Rivers noticed that the tree sculpture was gone right away. It was when Irvin Rivers, Jr., came home from his second job at midnight, when he and his wife became aware of the missing decoration.
The outdoor Christmas tree thief somehow got into their yard and snatched the sculpture. All that was left behind of the special tree was the stick that had held it up.
The unidentified thief remains at large, because there were no witnesses to the crime, but it was said that the same thing had happened to another Laplace family too. So this Christmas tree thief must surely get around without being seen.
Now who in their right mind would want to steal an outdoor Christmas tree sculpture that didn't cost much? It's only proof that people do way crazy things at Christmas and sometimes for the dumbest of reasons. People just get nutty as a fruitcake at this time of the year and set out to ruin someone else's Christmas because their's isn't going good. Sort of like the Grinch who stole Christmas..bah humbug..Scrooge what-have-not!!! These people are some real "duh's" I must remark.
