Without revealing too much of the plot, High School Musical Remix is a musical featuring likeable singing and dancing teens, with a romantic sub-plot.

Most teens and 'tweens will recognize Ashley Tisdale of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody fame as Sharpay, the catty female antagonist.

By now, most will also now breakout star, Vanessa Hudgens, whose amazing voice propels much of the actual talent portion of the movie. Additionally, Corbin Bleu ("Jump In"), whose likeable mug and interesting coif, is also featured.

Most of the songs are catchy and entertaining; the dancing is fun and a couple of the characters are over-the-top (in a good way); and the romance not so heavy that it turns the 'tweens off.

The 2-disc "Remix" DVD set features the movie boasts additional features such as:

My viewing crew (consisting of two ‘tween boys), liked the singing and dancing. They were able to tolerate the romance without complaint. Yet, their major complaint about the DVD had to do with the "Learning the Moves" section. The "tutorials" went way too fast (mom and a teen girl tested them out, too, and agreed), and were pronounced "lame" by the boys. This pronouncement comes from two boys who spend most of their time trying to out-perform each other in "American Idol" audition-styled dance competitions!

Overall, High School Musical is well worth the price. It is well on it’s way to "instant classic" status among the teen and 'tween crowd, and really is something they will want to watch again and again.
