Our President Should Be a Veteran

The Simple Truth:

The United States of America is conducting two limited wars at this very moment and will continue to do so into the foreseeable future. Our next President will no doubt inherit American 'boots on the ground' in far off, foreign and dangerous lands where American lives are at stake. Do we really want a new president with no experience with the ways of war?

Do we want a new president who has no idea what it takes to be in the military? One who knows not what if feels like to leave loved ones in order to deploy to hostile lands? A President who knows nothing of the intestinal fortitude required to complete the mission at hand in the face of severe adversity? Does America want a President who has never been in a position to kill or be killed, but will certainly be in the unenviable position to send America’s toughest and brightest to do so?

The choice will soon be yours.

Credibility:

Despite what some may think, a Veteran President who has 'been there and done that' in regards to military action, will not be a warmonger. Any president with war time military experience knows exactly what it means to put soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines in harm's way to do America's bidding.

A Veteran President will know exactly what it looks, smells, and feels like to conduct war, therefore thinking twice about sending our military personnel directly in harm's way. Can the same be said of a president without that crucial 'gut level' experience?

Take, for example, this ‘been there, done that’ level of credibility. When Senator John McCain states that torturing the enemy to gain actionable intelligence is wrong, his experience being tortured as a POW in North Vietnam over several painful years carries more weight than almost any other source. Ask yourself this, do you want a President who has been there and can speak from experience, or someone who has just read an ‘intelligence brief’ about the situation, and makes their own limited decision?

The Choice is Yours:

The math is really very simple. Right now, America requires a Veteran President who can make the tough decisions necessary for all Americans in this country. Decisions based upon a position of military experience and ‘ground truth’ expertise, not just posturing and positioning for votes.

Get out and vote. It's your right!

There are thousands of U.S. soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines in Iraq and Afghanistan, not only defending your right to vote, but working very hard to secure that right for others.

Think about it!
