Amazing Rescue - Faithbook Challenge

Edith Schaefer, author, speaker says, “One of the ways we describe the unfolding of God’s will is by the observance of “signposts. Signposts are answered prayers or significant events, which prove to be pivotal in the direction of our ministry and day to day living. At each signpost is an awareness of God’s hand working behind the scenes, orchestrating a master plan and the gentle pointing of our family along a certain path to achieve His plan.”

You may be thinking "there aren’t really any stories in my life that are miraculous enough to tell." Once you really think about it though, you will find signposts that God has used in miraculous ways to direct and strengthen you in your daily life.

One year my prayer group started keeping track of all of our prayer requests and the answered prayers. We were amazed to discover that in our first year keeping track we had 60 answers to prayer! Those are only the ones that we knew about so there were probably even more! Those are signposts worth documenting!

Keeping track of those answered prayers gave us an amazing boost of faith so we decided to share that with our church family. We decided to make a tree on one of the walls in the church hallway. The leaves hanging on the tree are prayer requests. When those prayers are answered they are moved to the bucket at the bottom of the tree so we can keep track of all of the answered prayers. Seeing all of those answered prayers can strengthen the faith of many. This is a project that you might consider for your church family!

1. When have you had an amazing rescue?
Begin with childhood memories or recall the pivotal moment of near-accidents or life-threatening circumstances that you survived. Pay special attention to illnesses that you recovered from. All healing is actually a rescue from danger and is ultimately from God.

Remember, Faithbooking is finding the deeper spiritual meaning in the events in our past and learning to see the Lord’s activity in our present and future.

Psalm 78:4 says: “We will tell the next generation the praise worthy deeds of the Lord, His power and the wonders He has done.”
