Knitted Animals - Book Review

Many of you have asked for patterns or instructions for making knitted animal dolls. Knitted Animals by Anne-Dorthe Grigaff is the perfect solution for this request. This is a delightful book with instructions for making twenty-two different animals included.

The book is full of large, close-up, color photographs which really show detail and make it quite easy to follow the assembly instructions. There are also very easy to understand instructions and drawings to help you complete your knitted animal dolls.

Many of the animals in this book are very timely for Spring holiday giving. There are hens and chicks, ducks and ducklings, sheep and lambs, as well as dogs, cats, foxes, bears and many more. I made one of the cats and before I could take a photo of it my daughter simply had to have it. She is well past childhood, so these animals will appeal to anyone who would love to have a new, soft friend.

Knitted Animals assumes you have a working knowledge of simple knitting stitches and techniques, but includes suggestions for varying the materials as well as the size needles you use. I have made several more animals of different sizes by changing the yarn and needles, so these patterns are very forgiving if you can't find the exact yarn given in the patterns.

For those who need a little more help with basic knitting technique we have a Knitting Site right here at BellaOnline.

This book is a delight for the eye and the Crafter's soul, I recommend it highly.
