Rodent Supplies

Hamsters, mice, rats, guinea pigs, gerbils, chinchillas, hedgehogs, and other rodents, all have similar needs yet; they have very different needs within that similar category. What might be a great cage for a pet rat would be an awful cage for a gerbil. Another similarity, they all have teeth that grow continually and they must have material to chew to keep their teeth at a safe length.

All rodents make wonderful pets. Some people may prefer some rodents to others. Some rodents are more suitable for children that other rodents. This is the fantastic thing about exotic pets, they all have such wonderful but yet, different personalities.

Each and every rodent has different needs some more obvious than others. Different kinds of rodents come from hugely different areas of the world. Some rodents come from arid desert regions while others come from more temperate areas. Though there are rodents on every continent on earth except for one, the Antarctica.

What some exotic pet rodents may enjoy, perhaps a bath in water, others deplore water and clean themselves with volcanic ash.

If we don’t have an understanding of the rodent we want as a pet be it a mouse, rat, hamster, gerbil, guinea pig, chinchilla, hedgehog, porcupine, mole, pygmy jerboa, and other rodents, they will not be healthy, happy, live their entire lifespan, or we may even cause its death.
