The Miracles Worker’s Handbook by Todd Michael
Most of us have been brought up to believe that miracles, though Divine in nature, are rare treats, indeed. But did you know that our lives should be filled with miracles, and that there is something amiss if they are not?
In Todd Michael’s book, The Twelve Conditions of a Miracle, he explains how the biblical story of the miracle of the loaves and fishes is really a key to 12 steps, or conditions, for performing miracles. He then gives a step by step program for attracting more miracles into your life. At the end of each chapter he gives a list of simple activities we can do to help bring about the fulfillment of each of the twelve conditions.
My favorite chapter in the book was the chapter on the eighth condition, which is gratitude. He spoke about the importance of the spoken word, or affirmations, and the power they hold as blessings. Gratitude is the fuel that allows us to create effective affirmations. When we are in appreciation we “find great delight in the simple gifts that life offers…” When miracle workers are filled with gratitude, there is little time for despair or gloom.
One of the exercises he offers to experience more gratitude to is actively search out things to be thankful for rather than waiting for something wonderful to happen. When I did this exercise I was able to list heaps of items that I was grateful for, including my wonderful family, my friends, bottled water, café mocha, a bookcase filled with inspirational reading, finding my favorite tote bag and of course, BellaOnline!
I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Michael’s writing style, and found this book to be a very inspirational reading. It kept me interested enough to read it in just two days (and with my two children that’s an accomplishment!) It’s not too long, just 175 pages. It’s filled with personal stories and parables and provides the groundwork for anyone wishing to have a more inspirational life.
I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in transforming their life and living a life of miracles.
