Ahhh..... Valentine's Day - some ladies will be especially lucky when Monday rolls around - some will get proposals, or maybe a nifty diamond tennis bracelet, or a surprise trip to an exotic locale. If I were asked what I would like, aside, of course, from world peace and moral support from loved ones (we're just talking about romantic notions here), I would say - 'Vegas, Baby!' -and, if that wasn't possible, maybe the Atlantis on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. I've never been there before, but I know some people who have - and they had such a marvelous time that they plan to go there again in the near future.
Getting back to Vegas, I have been there several times, and it's a place where you could never get bored - there is always something to do, and it doesn't have to include gambling. So many sights to see! not that I ever leave the hotel - I'm usually too busy strolling through the Caesar's Forum Shops Mall - an outrageously interesting and unbelievable place. That usually gives me the impetus to go back to the casino to try and win enough money to go on a shopping spree, but it really hasn't happened yet, at least not the kind of spree I would like to go on! After all, diamonds are still a girls best friend.
My other burning desire would be to win the HGTV.com Dream Home. This year they are also awarding the winner a $250,000 prize in addition to the magnificent home, and a beautiful automobile. Wow, all your desires given to you in one lump prize --- how unbelievable and surreal would that be?? I don't think I would recover from the shock! Each year the home gets bigger and better than the year before, if that is possible. There is usually always a dock, equipped with a mini structure that houses an apartment and outdoor kitchen to boot. This is what dreams are made of. But, the bottom line really is -- what I want -- what we all want, is to have no worry, no stress, no anxiety in our lives. And, financial freedom usually helps to accomplish that.
As I have gotten older, I have become less and less interested in material things. But, in this case, winning a prize such as this would allow me the freedom to do what I truly wanted in life - live where I wanted, take the job I wanted - even if it meant less pay, or help one of my loved ones if they were in need. Nothing would give me as much joy. It would be a luxury to be able to have such freedom. Maybe thinking a step further, since we are day-dreaming, I could turn the home into a bed and breakfast. How fabulous that would be!
It's nice to dream. Dreamers sometimes are fortunate enough to make their dreams come true. There have been some famous dreamers - or what we call visionaries - over the years, and thank goodness for them and their ideas. They envisioned some things that other people couldn't - and some of them brought their ideas and desires into reality, for all of us to share.
Have a Happy Valentine's Day - May all your dreams come true!
