But first, I have a few more February books for you, all Regencies this time. To start, we have Blair Bancroft's The Lady and the CIT (Signet), with Miss Aurelia Trevor on the hunt for a husband to help her save her family home from a greedy relative. Thomas Lanning seems the perfect choice, rich though untitled, and also on the hunt for a spouse. But what happens when emotions get tangled into the situation?
Then we have Evelyn Richardson's A Lady of Talent (Signet). Sebastian, Earl of Charrington, has fallen in love with a painting. Cecelia Manners happens to be the painter, and the lady in the painting, a fact that Sebastian has no way of knowing, until he arrives to commission the artist to paint his fiancee's portrait. Ouch.
Finally, we have the anthology Elizabeth's Rake; Cupid's Mistake (Signet) with older stories by Emily Hendrickson and Karen Harbaugh re-released in time for Valentine's Day. In 'Elizabeth's Rake', Elizabeth Dancy's return to the country isn't going quite as she planned, when David, Viscount Leighton, also turns up. But perhaps she was wrong about him. Then, in 'Cupid's Mistake', Cassandra Hathaway and the Marquess of Blytheland aren't a match made in heaven, though Eros seems to think they belong together.
For a real Regency fan, these three books will be must-reads. For me, they weren't, unfortunately, but, as I've mentioned before, I'm not a huge Regency fan. I prefer a little more depth to my stories, not to mention a lot more steam and a lot less rules.
