Food to Some Poison to Others

Did you know that food allergens are one of the primary causes of bloating and false weight gain? If you often feel like you're walking around with 5-10 pounds of extra weight, feel stuffed even after eating small food portions, or you have trouble with digestion and indigestion then you may be suffering from false weight gain caused by food allergies.

Food allergies are very common and an indication that you are eating foods that are wrong for your unique metabolism and body type. Some of the best fatloss diet plans address this but don't go into detail about how to find out what foods may be causing problems.

Terry Traub R.D.H. author of Food to Some Poison to Others show people how to go on an elimination diet that uncovers food allergies that can cause bloating, false weight gain, and serious diseases. Below she shares quick and easy healthy eating tips to help you get started.

Minimize Your Meat Intake For years now the low carb people have been telling you to eat tons of meat, dairy, and fat without going into detail about how dangerous and counterproductive this can be for some metabolic types. Eating high protein, high dairy and high fat works for some but not for everybody. Terry recommends switching to "two large portions of vegetables, a good portion of brown rice, and a small amount of meat, only four ounces or less". You may find that eating this way is more satisfying, healthier, and reduces bloat and false weight within days. If this is the case then you are one of the many who responds better to a more carb type diet.

Paint Your Dinner Plate "Challenge yourself with each meal to see how many colorful vegetables you can get on the dinner plate" says Terry. The more colorful the better. This will make cutting back on meats, dairy, and fats a whole lot easier. Her books includes tons of simple recipes that are easy to make and that you can use to help teach your family healthy eating and cooking habits too.

Eat Mediterranean Style Terry explains that when you switch to mediterranean style eating and cooking you automatically eliminate many foods and cooking methods that may be causing you problems. She recommends "focusing your diet mostly on vegetables, fruit, and fish. She also explains that braising or sauteing meats is much better than frying or broiling and suggests switching to sheep and goat cheeses". These quick fixes can make a huge difference not only in how you look but in your energy levels and overall health.
