Garlic / Allium

Clinical research shows that regular consumption of allium vegetables, such as garlic, onions, leeks and chives, aids in the maintenance of normal cardiovascular function and support of healthy cells and tissues throughout the body.* Garlic phytonutrients help to maintain healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels.* Garlic supports healthy immune responses and normal cell growth and renewal (especially in the gastrointestinal tract).*

Additionally, research suggests the amount of allicin contained in one clove of fresh garlic supports cardiovascular health, helps maintain normal levels of triglycerides, helps reduce blood platelet aggregation and promotes the health of the digestive tract.*

For a garlic supplement to be effective, it must contain both allicin and allinase, for the body to obtain allicin in the intestinal tract to facilitate health benefits. Garlic works well with Acidophilus to help control candida.*
