I have been asked many times "why I prefer to hand wax" my vehicles. I'm asked if the wax/chemicals are rough or hard on my hands and skin, does the wax dry out my hands and so on. Today's detailing is much more user friendly and environmentally than it used to be. There are literally no harsh fumes or odors to the variuos products I use. As for my hands and skin, the "chemicals" I use are gentle and safe. I do however, use Medical rubber gloves if I am doing a complete detailing because it involves more than one product versus several products all at once. Too much exposure for too long could have some drying effects on anyone's hands and skin. The gloves allow for grip and control of wet or moist sponges and towels compared to conventional rubber gloves--those are for washing dishes or floor cleaning. I prefer to be safe when it comes to using ANY chemical. I read the container's instructions--especially the warnings and hazards.

Back to the matter at hand--no pun intended, I prefer to get close to the vehicle--thoroughly examine the area before, during and after the procedure to see any changes that may or may not have occured. I trust the products I use and they must work on all surfaces every time--no exceptions. Thus, by hand waxing, I strongly believe my application and distribution is best. Contrary to machine users, both techinques serve the ultimate purpose of polishing and buffing. Time is the determining factor of "hand waxing vs. machine buffing" for those really know what they want.

My friends and clients like the fact that I hand wax their vehicles. They know I treat their vehicle as if it were my own. Yes, it does take a little more time but my customers prefer the "personal touch". If my clients are happy and satisfied, I must be doing something right. Please drive safely! Marie
