Cleaner Wax--Do You Need It?

Cleaner Wax is an absolute must when doing a COMPLETE detailing. I recommend this step be done whenever you wax your vehicle. It removes any and all old wax, oxidation and foreign substances that adhere to our finishes. What I mean is, as Spring is coming and I am going to be ready to get our vehicles' finishes conditioned and ready for the elements of the summer!

I will first examine my paint as it is before AND after it is washed. To wash it, I will use Mr. Clean Auto Dry. This will save time with the drying process. Or, I could go to the Automatic Car Wash and get the "Wash 'n Dry". (No need for wax at this time). What I want to do is wash my paint and prepare it for the cleaning process. Next, I will do a final examination--some areas will require more attention so I will start with these areas by applying cleaner wax on these spots--by applying the Cleaner Wax to these areas, tiny scratches and swirls get a double dose of cleaner wax. I like to squirt an amount according to the area--each area has its own requirement. (i.e. The hood requires more than the door.) Application should be done with a clean, microfiber towel(s). If you see color other than the Cleaner Wax on the towel, your ARE NOT working with a finish that has Clear Coat--Meguiar's Cleaner Wax will work on all finishes.

The purpose of implementing the Cleaner Wax step is to deep clean your vehicle's finish--to prepare it for waxing and polishing. Another good reason to use the Cleaner Wax is to reveal the true depth of your vehicle's color, gloss and let's not forget personality!

Let me know what you're getting ready for. I'm always happy to hear from you! Drive safely! Marie
