Discovering Your Special Talents and Gifts

Discovering those unique gifts only you can bring to the world, means understanding what makes you special. You are truly unique – there is no one else in the entire world quite like you. You owe it to yourself to discover, live and enjoy your special talents and gifts, wouldn’t you agree?

As you discover and appreciate the qualities making you so special and unique, you’ll also better understand your life’s purpose. When you’re comfortable with your purpose in life, life is more purposeful, exciting and meaningful. Think of a life’s purpose as a burning desire to make a difference not only in your life but also in the lives of those around you.

A life’s purpose can be as equally fulfilling as a hobby, a vocation or something you can do occasionally - it doesn’t have to be a career or full time job. The true beauty of a purpose is that it fosters and nurtures your unique talents.

That true purpose in life never disappears from your mind and heart. It may remain hidden for a few years, but it never disappears. No matter the challenges or set backs, the unconscious mind knows and remembers how to use and display your special gifts and talents. It’s important to leave your mind open and receptive to all the possibilities because you never know when you’ll receive that life changing “aha.”

It’s time to listen to your life’s purpose!

Make some quiet time to relax and unwind before beginning this activity. Clear the clutter from your mind. Begin with pen and paper and answer these questions:

1. Sometimes I think I should have ____________ and if I’d done this, I’d probably be living my life’s purpose right now.

2. Sometimes I look at people doing ___________ and I know I can do that just as well, if not better.

3. If time, energy and money weren’t issues, I’d be doing ___________ with my life.

4. When I think back to ____________, I feel I may have missed an opportunity to live my life’s purpose.

Carefully read the answers. Is there a pattern to your thoughts? Have you discovered something you may not have realized before?

What can you begin doing tonight or tomorrow with this new insight and information?

A huge part of living your life’s purpose is giving yourself permission to be happy, content and self-fulfilled. Living your purpose and using those special and unique talents and gifts can prove to be extremely rewarding and fulfilling.

“Hide not your talents.
They for use were made.
What’s a sundial in the shade?”

Benjamin Franklin
