Share these great Easter books with your young patrons.

The Easter Bunny that Overslept, by Priscilla & Otto Friedrich, illustrated by Donald Saaf
Having slept past Easter, the Easter bunny tries to distribute his eggs on Mother's Day, the Fourth of July, and Halloween, but no one is interested until finally Santa Claus is able to get him back on track. Originally published in 1957, the story continues to delight. It is a great story-time book for Easter, Mother's Day, or any holiday.

The Very First Easter, by Paul L. Maier & illustrated by Frank Ordaz
The artwork by Ordaz is luminous and refreshing. The story of Easter is told within the story of a 10-year-old boy named Christopher. Christopher (which means Christ Bearer) lives with his mother and father, a forest ranger, in a remote area of America's western mountains. While dying Easter eggs the family discusses the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus. The character of Christopher asks questions that many children have about Easter. If you are looking for a story with a Christian version of the Easter story, this is an excellent addition to your collection.

The Easter Story, by Brian Wildsmith
Wildsmith is an amazing artist and storyteller, with over 60 books to his credit. He has used his talents to bring many biblical stories to life. Each time he proves that picture books aren't just for young children. Brian Wildsmith turned to the Easter story because, "It is the world's greatest story, burning with history, passion, and tragedy." Within his book the illustrations are glorious, featuring his trademark gold-tones. This story is told from the view point of a small donkey. It is the story of the last days of Jesus' life, the crucifixion, and the resurrection.
