Todd Parr’s Big & Little is wonderful board book to teach your preschool child, ages 0-4, opposites. This board book is just the right size for small hands. The illustrations are bright and colorful.
As the title, Big & Little, says, the book contains pictures of big and little objects. There is a big elephant beside a little ant. A tree is big; a leaf is small.
The words, big and little, are basic adjectives. Adjectives are words used to describe the surrounding world. Children need to be able to describe objects. This board book will help children learn.
This little board book will make a big addition to a child’s library. The book may be small, but it is important.
Here is an activity to do with your child after reading the book. Give your child several house items. Have the child identify the big one, the small one in comparison to each other.
Dr.Seuss' book, The Foot Book, is a picture book which teaches opposites, also. Children learn about feet, important body parts, too. Children love the book's whimiscal characters. The rhyming verse is soothing to infants and toddlers. Older children can read the bold text easily.
