Whether you are newly visually impaired, a relative or friend of someone who has low vision, or an individual who has been legally blind for many years, check here often for helpful information on local and state services and programs for the blind and visually impaired.

The State and Local Resources section here on the Vision Issues website at Bella Online will specialize in services, agencies, organizations and programs that serve specific cities or regions of the United States. Services and programs for blind and visually impaired children and adults will be found here. Resources will be arranged in categories by state or US territory.

Entries for some resources will include an article giving details about the service and including contact information and links to related websites. Other entries may consist only of a link to a website. Whenever possible, these links will be replaced over time with informational articles, reviews and evaluations of services, and additional contact details.

In developing this section of the Vision Issues website, we had two choices. We could either open up state and territory categories as we placed information on-line, or we could withhold all information until we had categories and lots of resources for all 50 states ready to go. Because posting so much information takes a long time, and because lists of resources are always changing, we have decided to share information with you as we post it, featuring new state categories and/or links each week.

We want to include the information you want and need. There are hundreds of agencies, services, and programs throughout the country. Let us know what you are looking for, or the areas you would like for us to feature, by sending us an email.

You can help build your state category by emailing us news of resources that you find particularly helpful. Be sure to tell us how we can contact the program or service; include a telephone number, email, or website so we can make sure we have as much detail as possible when we post the information.
