Sun Hudson, the five-month-old baby caught in the middle of a right-to-life controversy died this afternoon in Houston, Texas.
Hudson had the fatal thanatophoric dysplasia, in which the child's chest and lungs are too small to support major life functions. He was placed on a ventilator at birth and his mother, Wanda Hudson, has been fighting on his behalf ever since.
Today the battle was lost when a judge ruled to uphold the Texas law of life support being removed when no alternative hospital could be found. After recommending that life support be shut down, Texas Children's Hospital recommended that Wanda Hudson take the matter to court and offered to pay filing and attorney's fees.
Weigh in and tell me what you think. Did the courts have the right to take a terminally ill child off life support?
