Sometimes when I am working on a vehicle and it has oxidation, fading, scratches, swirl marks etc., I want to do the best thing I can for that particular problem--deter it from advancing--sort of heal the finish. I have recently been contacted by the very people who test and do that very research on automotive paint and trim. I have read several articles on their website and I have learned more than I thought I would. For instance, if you have a small spot on your hood, roof or trunk that is about the size of a dime to a quarter and it has little pits in it--I found that likely to be related to bird droppings. I mean, I knew that bird droppings could be dangerous for our finishes, but I have never associated the marks with pits. When I spot droppings on my vehicles, I usually spray on some detailing mist, let soak for half a minute a gently wipe off with a clean soft towel, then I polish it with more mist. Turtle Wax Platinum Series Detailing Mist has always been my choice for that job. That is just ONE of the facts I learned and I'm glad I did! Check them out and see if they can give you the expert knowledge you need in diagnosing a particular problem you may have.
The name of the Company is Automotive International or autoint.com. I intend to use them as my resource for anything I can't identify or handle. Thanks to Ron Ketcham and the gang at Automotive International! They produce car care products for GM. They do 4 products for AC/Delco, as well as the entire Saturn and the entire Saab car care line, the DaimlerChrysler Master Shield product line for US, Canada and Mexico, and In Canada and Mexico, they produce the MoPar product line. They also have a private label some products for Ford, Nissan, Renault, etc. So If you have a technical question, they provide this sort of support to all these companies, as well as Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Mazda, Toyota, Kia, and on occassion, BMW.
Visit their website--you'll be glad you did. Keep it clean and shiny! Peace.
