The Complete Book of Tatting, Rebecca Jones
For nearly three decades this book has been the standard reference text for tatters. Containing explanations for six different methods of tatting, all the basic stitches plus advanced techniques such as cluny tatting, pearl or maltese tatting and the roll stitch. It has a wealth of information and patterns to keep the new tatter busy and to inspire experienced tatters, too.

With the objectives of:
* acknowledging TATTING as a viable and creative lace making technique.
* creating awareness of tatting and its proliferation through both Eastern and Western cultures.
Supported by LMLT and Rebecca Jones, celebrating her rescue of tatting from a "lost and forgotten art", over 30 years ago, with the first publication of her book The Complete Book of Tatting.
The EXHIBIT will include the tools, ephemera and historical pieces from the LMLT collection, tatting studies by Rebecca Jones and contributions to the exhibit from tatting enthusiasts world wide.
ORGANIZED around the following three themes, we soliciting support in the way of submitting objects for exhibition, personal or borrowed, and educational programs to maximize the success of this venture.
Historical and Cultural
The natural progression of the tatted object from a knotted cord to its occurrence in virtually every culture where the simplicity of the structure, the comfort of working and the natural geometric beauty transcended all cultures.
Contemporary
Tatting becomes integrated with the plethora of materials available in the fiber and bead world, expanding the decorative possibilities for home, personal and decorative purposes.
Conceptual
Tatting offers new opportunities to the textile artist, taking the simple knotted stitch into the new areas using new tools, materials and techniques yet to be explored.
PARTICIPATION
Welcomed from anyone willing to offer their talents. Initial submissions should be made by June 1, 2015. Based on these submissions, determinations and schedules will be made with consideration given to available facilities.
Facilities: LMLT has extensive class facilities which can easily handle up to 20 students.
