Strawberry Iced Tea & Easy BBQ Recipes

Let’s hear it for the Red, White, and Blue! There’s no reason to spend a long time sweating in
the kitchen when you can have do-ahead or easy does it recipes. Here’s are three recipes that will
have you joining the BBQ instead of being stuck inside.
Let’s start with refreshing Strawberry Iced Tea:
Ingreds:
2 ½ c of strawberries (cleaned)
5 tea bags of your fav. kind
1/3 c lemon juice (fresh or bottled your choice)
1 c of sugar (can use your own type of sweetener if your prefer)
plenty of ice cubes

Gadgets needed:
blender/food processor
2 quart pitcher
strainer
tea pot( for boiling water) or pan (for steeping tea & sugar)
Spoon

Steps:
1. Make tea using 4c of water. Steep 5 tea bags at least 5 minutes.
2. Using Blender/food processor (frappe’) strawberries
3. Remove tea bags & add the sugar, stir to dissolve
4.Next, fill your 2 qt pitcher ½ full with ice cubes
5.Add lemon juice to pitcher & strain strawberries to remove the larger pieces, add to pitcher
6.Now, add tea & stir through and refrigerate until ready to serve.
*2 regular lemons = about 1/3 c of lemon juice.
Can garnish the rim of the cup with a small strawberry. Enjoy!

Handfuls of snacks are always welcome at a BBQ, here’s an easy recipe that the kids will
love, and it’s easy to make!

Firecracker Popcorn
*Note this recipe is for one bag of microwave popcorn, one needs to double or triple
for a crowd.
Ingreds:
1 bag of microwave popcorn
1c of white candy melts or white chocolate chips
1 pkg. of strawberry pop rocks candy
1 blue sprinkles

Gadgets needed:
microwave oven
microwave oven bowl
cookie sheet

Steps:
1. make the popcorn according to package directions
2. spread popcorn onto a cookie sheet& let it cool
3.melt the chocolate candy melts in microwave (20 sec. intervals & stir continue
until completely melted)
4. drizzle the chocolate all over the popcorn
5. now sprinkle the pop rocks all over
6. now drizzle with the blue sprinkles
7. allow to cool, serve in a festive bowl!

Finally, a quick easy dessert refreshing and it will make you look like a gourmet cook!
Ice Box Lemon Pie
*This recipe makes only one pie, you’ll have to double or triple for 2 to 3 pies respectively.
Ingreds:
1 can of sweetened condensed milk
½ c lemon juice
1 ready- made graham cracker crust
1 small tub of your favorite whipped topping
1 lemon sliced very thin for garnish if desired (optional)
Gadgets:
Mixing bowl
Spoon

Steps:
1. Mix everything together, stir until completely smooth, now pour into crust.
Refrigerate until set, at least an hour.
Garnish with small thin slices or lemon if desired.
That’s it!
