From next April 2005, you can join our new Club. We'll read a book (in Spanish!) every month, and the Spanish Language Forum will be open to all your comments, notes or questions.
At the end of each month, we'll have a chat session to talk about the book of the month.
Then, I'll write a revision on the book, linked to our forum, for all those who didn't read it.
Every month I'll propose a different Spanish level book: this way you'll find the book that best fits your Spanish level. If you have any suggestion or idea related with all this, feel free to e-mail me.
Interested? These are our next book picks:
|May (Mayo)||First Spanish Reader: A Beginners Dual-Language Book (Beginners' Guides)|
by Angel Flores
"First Spanish Reader: A Beginner's Dual Language Book, is an excellent beginner book for the Spanish neophyte or for the individual with some background in Spanish that needs a little refreshing. It contains 41 short stories/proverbs in somewhat graded difficulty of well-known Spanish writers past and present. Spanish verbal forms, that bugaboo for most students of Spanish, are arranged so that the first 15 selections are in the present-indicative, after which imperfect-indicative and preterite are introduced, followed by future and conditional verbs towards the end. No subjunctive verb forms are found in this small volume. Idiomatic Spanish is introduced as well, using common idioms understood in all parts of Spanish-speaking world." - (by Reviewer: Charles Eggerstedt, amazon.com)
|June (Junio)||The Ugly Duckling/el Patito Feo (A Bilingual Book)|
by Merce Escardo I Bas (Adapter), Max (Illustrator)
Retold in both Spanish and English, the universally loved story The Ugly Duckling will delight early readers and older learners alike. The striking illustrations give a new look to this classic tale, and the bilingual text makes it perfect for both home and classroom libraries." - (Editorial Reviews - amazon.com)
|July (Julio)||El principito (Spanish)|
by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Bonifacio Carril
"This was my first book , i read it when i was 7 years old, i have not forgotten about it since then.... If you think you are too old, or too adult for to give it a try and read it...then you should not steal this amazing opportunity from a child of yours...i think it's the best children's literature ever written.
