Every company has its share of difficult clients, and Knight, who is eccentric and high maintenance, is causing the top management at Blane-Grunwald plenty of difficulty because he’s just decided that he wants to actually see the gold that is in his account.
Riley Moon has just graduated from Harvard Business and Harvard Law; she is ecstatic over landing her dream job as a junior analyst at Blane-Grunwald. Her first assignment is babysitting Emerson Knight, however, and she’s less than excited. Knight and Moon are an unlikely team, especially when the babysitting evolves into investigating a missing partner from Blane-Grunwald, some nefarious business practices, and murder. Knight may be eccentric, but he is not stupid, and he is able to manipulate Moon (and others) to help even though she fears that she’ll lose her dream job, as well as her life. Knight is fearless and will stop at nothing to find the truth, creating plenty of palpable suspense and danger, not only for himself but also for Moon.
The book is well-written, and is also a fast read, which is fortunate because it’s almost impossible to put down. The suspense is definitely there, but there is a nonstop deluge of humor that makes the novel light and fun. There is no graphic violence, sex, or language, so the book is great for all ages. It’s nice sometimes to get away from thrillers that keep readers on the edge with no relief in site, and Curious Minds is perfect. Can’t wait for the next installment.
