In the mood for something, light, humorous, and fun? Death Crashes the Party may be just the perfect choice. Although this book is a mystery, with plenty of twists and turns, and a surprise ending, it will keep readers laughing throughout. Liv McKay, a party planner in the small southern town of Dixie, Tennessee and her best friend Di Souther, team up to solve a murder. While meeting with a not-so-enjoyable client who is planning a huge party, and who is extremely high maintenance, Liv discovers a dead body in the freezer. Unfortunately, more dead bodies follow, and the girls find themselves in danger as they uncover clues and open up more than a can of worms.

Death Crashes the Party is a fast read, and a great choice for reading at the beach, on an airplane, or just when you want to curl up in a chair and read something upbeat. It can be easily read in one (fairly long – but who’s counting since it’s lots of fun – sitting), there is lots of humor (even the name of the series is a play on words), and the storyline will keep a reader’s interest to the very end.

Since this novel is a cozy, there is no graphic violence, sex, or profanity so it is suitable for everyone. Vickie Fee definitely captures the quirkiness of small southern towns, and most readers will anticipate the next installment in this fun series.
