Hairstyles for Large Women

A hairstyle can make a world of difference in the way we look and effect the way we feel about ourselves. Your style can cause your face to appear heavier, fuller, shorter, longer, thinner or more narrow.
This week’s email request:
“I’m a very large woman, over-weight with a full face. I would like to cut my long hair into a more stylish hairstyle. Can you suggest something for me?”

Faces come in many shapes. Even your full face has its own individual shape. The perfect hairstyle for you will depend a great deal on this shape. Check here to get an idea of your particular face shape. The Perfect Hairstyle
Below are some suggestions that are slimming in nature.
The length of the long shag lengthens and slims the face. This style should be fluffy but not very full. The slightly disheveled layers are soft and feminine. The side, angle bangs also take away from the width of the forehead. Bangs that are heavy and all the way across your forehead, appear to shorten your face and add width.

Short hair that is layered and has some fullness toward the top, draws the eye upward, slimming the face. Bangs are best when they kept thin or swept to the side. The trick is to be able to see some areas of your forehead. This creates the illusion of more length in your face.

Keep the length of this flip below the fullness of the chin. Flip the ends casually – not into a complete curl. Keeping the soft ends close to your neck has a softening effect.

This shag allows for fullness on top. – Lengthening your face. It is kept close at the bottom – taking away from a full chin and neck area.

If you wear your hair shoulder length or below, keeping it well styled is a must and gives it a more stylish and professional appearance. Drawing one or both sides up has a slimming effect on your face.

Two things to avoid

The fullness at the bottom of this chin-length bob can cause a full chin or cheeks to appear even fuller.

Cutting your hair very short and wearing it flat or very close to the head,
can appear out of proportion to your body size.
This doesn’t mean that you should wear “big” hair.
Keeping it fluffy will be more in proportion to you body size.
