Okay Airlines

The era of discount aviation is in China. The Chinese government is allowing Okay Airlines to fly discount flights between Tianjin (Beijing) and Changsha. It the past all domestic flights were operated by the government.

Okay Airlines is the first discount airline for the traveler in China. The fare is much lower than the dictated government fare. Okay Airlines' arrival ends the government monopoly on the growing civil aviation sector.

Domestic air travel is up 40% last year to a total 120 million flights. Three more airlines may open in the future. This will expand the traveler’s options and help meet the increase in demand for aviation fights.

Okay Airlines operates Boeing 737-900 planes. They fly out of Binhai International Airport (Tianjin). It is 125 miles from Beijing. The company hopes the flight savings will compensate for the two-hour travel time between the city and airport.

Invest in a passport holder. I prefer the kind which is waterproof and worn as belt around the waist. It is worn under your clothes and not seen by others. There is a zipper compartment divided for passport, money and credit cards. It is so comfortable the wearer can sleep with it around the waist.

The type which hang about the neck invites troubles and who wants someone pulling on a strong cord around the neck. Remember to carry the amount of money needed for the day’s activities in your pocket and the rest placed away safely.
