Hunters become familiar with the name Boone & Crockett if they are big game hunters, when it comes to scoring the size of their trophy antlers of the big game they take. While Boone & Crockett Club has designated the standards for scoring trophy size, and compiling the largest database of trophies taken in each state in North America. They are so much more.

Boone & Crocket Club is known around the world as one of the oldest wildlife conservation groups.

Boone & Crockett Club is a North American non-profit organization which supports hunting, hunters and wildlife conservation worldwide. Its mission is:

“to promote the conservation and management of wildlife, especially big game and its habitat. To preserve and encourage hunting and to maintain the highest ethical standards of fair chase and sportsmanship in North America.”

Boone & Crockett Club’s headquarters are located in Missoula, Montana. It is also the Home of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. And it is currently responsible for eliminating commercial market hunting and the creation of the National Park and National Forest Services as well as the National Wildlife Refuge Systems and Resources.

Theodore Roosevelt, saw the decimation of the nation’s wildlife first hand. He committed himself to save the country’s wetlands and one of the first steps he took was to create the Boone & Crockett Club in 1887. Roosevelt named the group for two of the hero hunters of the time, Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett. Avid hunters who recognized the consequences of over harvesting game and habitat.

Over the years, members of Boone & Crockett championed the passage of laws, the establishment of institutions to educate and protect the nation’s wildlife and lands, and to set the designations of wild lands which make up the basis for today’s national conservation system.
