Sabrina (1954)

The Larrabees are a wealthy family with oldest son, Linus, spending all of his time running the world renowned family corporation while younger son, David, is just as busy being an all-around playboy. Sabrina, the quiet daughter of the Larrabee’s loyal chauffer, Thomas Fairchild, has grown up at the family’s estate and has held a long time secret love for wild child, David. After living in Paris for a couple years, Sabrina returns to the Larrabee estate as a young, sophisticated woman, and immediately catches the eye of David, much to the family’s chagrin. When David’s infatuation with Sabrina threatens to destroy a business deal for the Larrabee Corporation, Linus takes it upon himself to interfere. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching 1954’s “Sabrina”.

· Linus finds Sabrina in the garage with all the car engines running. Once they’re outside, Sabrina faints. When she passes out, Linus grabs catches her and pulls Sabrina’s right arm around his neck, and in front of him. Her left arm is left dangling behind him as he carries her. When Linus starts up the steps, both of Sabrina’s arms are dangling behind him.

· Linus is showing David the plastic made by the Tyson’s company. He uses a lighter on the plastic to demonstrate that it can’t “burn, scorch or melt”. When he hands the plastic to David, there is a noticeable scorch mark in the middle. But, when Linus is putting the plastic back in the cylinder, it’s completely clear, with no marks.

· David barges into Linus’ office regarding the wedding announcement in the newspaper, the left side / rear view of Linus shows him holding his papers in his left hand while holding his glasses and cigarette in his right. When David asks “Did you plant this?”, Linus is holding the edge of the paper between the thumb and index finger of his right hand. The scene cuts to a front view and the paper is away from his right hand, closer to his lap.

“Sabrina” (1954) stars Humphrey Bogart, Audrey Hepburn, William Holden, Walter Hampden, John Williams, Martha Hyer, Nella Walker and Ellen Corby. It runs 113 minutes and is Not Rated.
