Car Themed Halloween Costumes for Kids

Dressing up for Halloween is lots of fun for kids. But it's not just about ghosts and goblins. Today kids can dress up in all kinds of costumes with a car related theme. Almost anything to do with transportation and even heavy equipment can be worn for Halloween.

Speed Racer continues to be a popular choice as is my favorite character from the hit TV show and recent movie, Racer "X". You can even dress your child as the wonder car itself called the Mach 5.

If you and your child are NASCAR fans, There are costumes that will portray them as a NASCAR driver. Boys can wear the standard NASCAR costume in black with accessories or even personalize as Jeff Gordon.
Girls can choose to wear a beautiful pink NASCAR uniform with silver and white trim.

If your child is intrigued by the inner workings of race cars and their engines, you can even dress them as a certified auto mechanic for Halloween (grease stains not included!)

This year brings a couple of new characters last seen in the 1960's TV show, The Green Hornet. With the release of the movie this winter, your child can get a head start on the action by dressing as The Green Hornet with a costume featuring a cool green fedora and a trench coat. The distinguishing part of the Green Hornet costume is the green eye mask. His trusty sidekick Kato's costume from the series features a black suit with a policeman style cap and a black mask.

Of course there are also automobile costumes where your son or daughter can dress up as their favorite car! Many of the characters from the animated movie "Cars" are available as a Halloween costume including the adorable Tow Mater Mechanic.

Finally for those with a real sense of humor, your infant can look like a Christmas tree for Halloween by wearing a spruce tree air freshener costume!
This costume looks exactly like the green tree hanging from rear view mirrors on many automobiles.

Even those not yet old enough to go trick or treating can wear most of the above costumes in their sizes.

Here is a site where these costumes can be found:
