Even with a less than stellar track record for long lasting love, The Bachelor returns for another season on ABC. Twenty five bachelorettes are going to battle it out for the love and affection of one lucky guy. The premise is simple but that many women living together and competing for the same guy makes for interesting television.

This season's bachelor Jason Mesnick is no stranger to the process of finding love on TV. A single father to his three year old son Ty, Jason was on the last season of the Bachelorette. His proposal to bachelorette DeAnna Pappas was rejected but that did not damper his spirits in his attempt to find true love. In fact, ABC received an incredible amount of sympathy e-mail for Jason that made him their choice for the 13th season of The Bachelor.

The show begins with Jason meeting the twenty five women who will be vying for his heart. Many of the women are familiar with Jason from his stint on The Bachelorette. He greets each of them as they exit the limousine and make their way into the beautiful mansion the women will call home. Each woman does her best to make a lasting impression on Jason so that he will be sure and spend plenty of time with her that evening. At the end of the night, Jason will only be giving out fifteen roses. Between the champagne and intense competition for the bachelor's attention, the first evening is notorious for a lot of drama.

Many of the women are familiar with Jason from his stint on The Bachelorette which led to many an awkward conversation. A couple of the women expressed to Jason how much of his personal information they know from viewing his MySpace site. While others wrote him poems or gave him gifts to show him their affection. Things heat up when Jason has to give out a rose to a woman he would like to get to know better early in the evening.

A little twist in this edition's evening of first impressions comes when the women must vote out one of their fellow competitors out of the competition. The night is full of surprises.

Will Jason find the love of his life this season on The Bachelor? Who will the women choose to vote out and will she really go home? DeAnna Pappas even makes an appearance at the mansion.
