The United States soldier, general, and president Dwight D. Eisenhower was born one hundred and twenty two years ago on the fourteenth of October in the year 1890 in Denison, Texas. He died on the twenty eighth of March on 1969, in the hospital, due to an illness, or cancer. He was the thirty fourth president of the United States, he served in the office for eight years, but before he was the president of the United States he served in the army for a long thirty eight years, before getting elected president of the United States. At the start of his military career, Dwight had attended West Point Military Academy, although Dwight did not want to be a soldier, West Point Military Academy was the cheapest and only way Dwight could attend college and get his college education. In 1915 he graduated out of West Point Military Academy, and then later on joined the army. Dwight later climbed all of the ranks, first he was a Private, next he was a Captain, then he became a Lieutenant Colonel, and then finally became a Five Star General of the United States Army. One the operations Dwight is most known, or recognized for is being in full responsibility and leadership of Operation Overlord, also known as the invasion of Europe, or D-day, the casualties were near ten thousand four hundred, but compared to the soldiers that were on Omaha Beach that day ten thousand was not that big of a loss for the Allies, and Americans, besides the ten thousand that were lost, and died on the beach that day, the whole operation was a huge successful setback for the Germans, and a huge step into winning the war for the Americans and Allies. He is also known as one of the most important generals of the second World War, because he has led one of the most important operations of the World War, and other numerous operations that helped win the war for the Allies, and Americans. The war later ended, and in 1948, Dwight retired from the army, and continued his life.
Dwight did not identify himself with any, or even one political party in particular, but in 1952 he was asked, and requested by the Republican Party about being the next presidential candidate for the Republican Party in the upcoming presidential voting event, and he thought about it, and then finally he had accepted the request, and question sent by the Republican party, to be the next Republican Presidential Candidate. In the month of November, the voting event was in progress, when the voting had stopped, they had counted all of the votes, surprisingly, and out of nowhere, Dwight had won, he would now become the president of the United States, Dwight had easily out voted Adlai Stevenson, the Democratic presidential candidate, by 34 million votes, to 27 million votes, Dwight Eisenhower had out voted Adlai Stevenson by seven million votes. On January, twentieth of 1953, Dwight D. Eisenhower, delivered his first inaugural address, he then became the thirty fourth president of the United States. He also was the first soldier president, since the eighteenth president of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant. Four years later, Dwight was then re-elected to office again in 1957, and delivered his second inaugural address. Four years later in 1961, Dwight left, and retired from the oval office as one of the most noticed, and one of the most popular presidents in American History, in many peoples opinion.
When he had left office, he had also did his last speech as president before leaving office, people say that this speech is the most controversial speech he has ever, said or done in his career. This speech is him talking about a serious warning about the situation that the Americans had faced, he then left the White House with the reputation of being the most popular president in American history, after that, he retired to his farm in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Mamie Genova Doud, but at that time she was known as Mamie Doud Eisenhower, because she was married to Dwight Eisenhower. Dwight was also suffering from a disease or cancer, called Coronary Heart Disease. Eight years later of fighting that illness, Dwight D. Eisenhower, peacefully passed away, at 12:25 PM on the twenty eighth of March, in Walter Reed General Hospital. He was 78 when he passed away.
The most important part here was all of his military experience. If it was not because of all of his military experience, he would not have been the great leader, he was 50 years ago, and he might have not even gotten elected as president. Many people probably voted for Dwight because they admired his service in the Army, and The World Wars, and they respected him for being a great general, and doing a lot of service during those 38 years he was in the military.
