Canadian Christmas Music

Christmas is by far my most favorite holiday of the year. I love everything about it, the food and smells, the decorations, the family and friends, and of course the music. For me Christmas just isn't Christmas unless "Frosty The Snowman" is playing in the background. So to make sure your Christmas stays merry and bright I have found three amazing must have Canadian Christmas albums to add to your collection this year.

After hearing George Canyon's Home For The Holiday's I could only think of one word to describe it, fun.The music on this album is brilliant and well I just can't get enough of Canyon's distinctive country voice he really does put a great spin on all of our old favorites like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Blue Christmas and is a great sing along choice. So whether your doing some holiday baking or sipping on some eggnog this is a great CD to pop in your player. The only thing I can complain about with this album is that though it runs for over 22 minutes it only has seven songs on it, so if you are looking for something a bit more lengthy try out one of the next two albums.

If you are looking for a more angelic Christmas album then Aselin Debsion's Littlest Angel is a great choice for you. This album is a family favorite of mine and I can tell you first hand that it is loved by all ages everyone from my grandma to my itty bitty cousins love it (even my two year old son dances to it). It is impossible not to love Aselin's voice, even at the young age of 11 she can bring a tear to your eye and I just love the Celtic undertones found in some of the songs. This CD is great background music for your Christmas feast or even for playing in the car while you check out the neighborhood Christmas displays. Though you may not have heard of this album until now it will quickly become one of your most cherished Christmas treasures.

Well like they say you can take the girl out of Cape Breton but you can't take the Cape Breton out of the girl. I may now live on the complete opposite side of the country but my traditions haven't changed a bit. Sure to my roots I love spending Christmas with my house jammed full of family and friends and my table over flowing with any kind of food you can think of. During these events I almost always have one "go to" CD in particular, that CD is A Canadian Country Christmas. I love it! It is great for big events like this because it is just so versatile, it has a great selection of old classics as well as great new songs. Another bonus is that you get to hear all of your favorite Canadian Country Stars without needing to flip through 18 different albums this CD features the likes of Johnny Ried, Doc Walker, Terri Clark, Paul Brandt, and Shania Twain (to name a few). This CD really is a personal favorite of mine and I will suggest it to any Country music fan!

If you think you might like one of these albums but (like many of us) are to busy wrapping presents and decorating your tree to go head to a nearby store, then why not have it delivered to your door? Below are direct links to Amazon pages featuring each of the albums listed above. Its quick, its easy (and many of the times cheaper).
