AdobeR has released their latest upgrade for PhotoshopR, version CS2. Here are just a few of the new features and improvements. The first change you will notice is the missing File Browser and you will also notice that it hasn't been replaced. In fact, it has been replaced by a new stand-alone application that ships with Photoshop called the Adobe Bridge (view larger image). This is the next generation of the File Browser and works much the same way, along with a few new features and improvements. For example, you now have more control over the thumbnail preview images and there are new ways to categorize your images. Read my review to find out more about the Adobe Bridge.The little changes make a big difference and one of the improvements is the new Font Menu. When you add text to an image, you now have a WYSIWYG preview of the fonts. Sharpening images is easier with the new Smart Sharpen, which gives you more control than the old Unsharp Mask. Working with multiple layers has become easier. Instead of using the Layers Palette, you can now edit multiple layers directly on the canvas. Another new feature is the Animation palette. You no longer need to import your Photoshop images into another program in order to turn them into an animation. Adobe has added an animation feature and you now can complete the entire process using just Photoshop. For those of you who use Text Wrap, you will be glad to hear that there is a new Image Warp feature that works much the same way. You can add a dimensional wrap effect to an image so that it appears to bend. This can have so many applications such as creating logos and marketing images.  The new Vanishing Point feature makes working with perspective images much easier. (View larger image) Previously it was time consuming to edit this type of image because the perspective was difficult to match manually. With this new feature, Photoshop will automatically maintain the correct perspective while you edit your images.You can download a trial copy of Photoshop CS2 from the Adobe website.
