I love make-quick meals that are healthy for you and yummy, too. The Kettle Cuisine soup falls into this category, although there are a few minor problems with it.
You get a 10oz plastic bowl with peel-off lid, that needs to stay in a fridge until you cook it. This means that you can just microwave it and eat it - perfect for people who want a quick, warm treat at work or home. The theory is great - but in reality when you microwave it for the recommended 2 minutes, it bubbles over and makes a bit of a mess in your microwave. So be sure to put it on a plate or something. In addition, the peel-off plastic comes off in stripes, something that drives me quite insane. Can't they create a plastic cover that comes off in one piece?
The tag line for the soup is "natural ingredients you can pronounce" - and that is of course a great thing. You get fresh chicken stock, broccoli, cream, etc. For some reason, though, it was more like "broccoli soup" than cream of broccoli. There were a few large pieces in a thinnish broth - I like my cream of broccoli as a thick creamy soup with lots of little broccoli bits in it. It was tasty, but it was more like ... egg drop soup with broccoli I suppose in terms of texture. It wasn't really creamy.
Because broccoli, cheese and cream are all naturally low carb, this doesn't need any chemicals at all to be healthy. On the other hand, it isn't super low carb, because of the milk. You get 9g of carbs per serving. That is great for just about everyone but induction (initial stage of low carb) folks. If you are in that initial high-weight-loss stage, you need to hold off on eating this.
So in general, the Kettle Cuisine Cream of Broccoli Soup is a great food to keep in the fridge, to make sure you eat healthy, regular meals. Heck, you might really like the not-so-creamy texture of it. I'm sure that appeals to many people. If they can just get a handle on the boil-over issue and the tearing plastic top, that would be great!
