You’ll need one fourth yard (one fourth meter) of material for the dress.
Hints and tips
- Use small prints to reflect size of doll.
- Use a solid color for either bodice or skirt if you wish to give the impression of a blouse and skirt.
- Add top stitching in contrasting color for interest - it is nice to pick up one of the less dominant colors in a print fabric.
- Use washable fabrics and trims.
- Use velcro closures rather than snaps or buttons if the item will be for a child's doll.
