First, the basics. Everyone should try to eat a salad every day. If you think salads are boring, you haven't been having good salads! Salads are delicious, fresh, very tasty, and if you keep changing up the ingredients you never get bored. Having a good selection of salad dressings is key in that.
Organicville has created an olive oil and balsamic dressing that has under a carb per serving. I know sometimes we eat healthy food because it's good for us, but "suffer through" the taste. That definitely isn't the case here! The fresh flavors shine through in it. It isn't often you can read an ingredient list and understand what it says. Here you get organic marjoram, organic minced garlic, organic balsamic vinegar, and more! Those delicious flavors really shine through.
How about other nutrient values? There are no trans fats, no cholesterol. There is 240mg of sodium and no protein. The dressing is certified organic.
How does it taste? Smooth, gentle, with a nice hint of herbs. Some balsamic dressings taste like you are painting your tongue in a thick balsamic paste. I imagine it's the preservatives that do it. Here it's a much more subtle flavor. You definitely can taste it, but you can also taste the fresh flavors of the salad itself as well. I really found it to be the perfect combination.
If I have any complaint at all, it's about the serving size - but I imagine this is an industry standard that all salad dressings must follow. They say a serving is two Tablespoons. I find I use much more than that on my salads. I also admit that I'm not usually having tiny little "side salads" before I start my main course. For me, usually my salad is my main delicious lunch and I have a nice big one. So I tend to use more salad dressing than most people would on it.
All in all, I highly recommend this dressing if you can find it. It is fresh, good for you, low carb and very healthy. Delicious!
