Even if you don't at the moment, you never know what you may learn that could be of value at some other time. There are some very positive things going on with people with disabilities and those who love and care for us. I hope you will join us to read the featured article this week on "people first language". It's so very important that we refer to ourselves and others with disabilities in a way that celebrates and reminds the world that we are people first. Also, please lend your opinions and discussion topics to our Disabilities Forum here: http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php

We will gain insight and perspective on some of the reading material in today's market for families of impacted by disability and get some insight on the stigmas and myths still held toward people with disabilities--yes, even in this our 21st Century! I hope to hear from you regarding how you are living and thriving with a disability or how knowing someone close to you with a disability has affected your life. Hopefully, we will learn some new ways to cope with life regardless of whether we acquired a disability from birth, later on due to illness or injury and as find out how others maintain balance and joy in our lives.
