Coffee Maker Update

On July 4th in 2007, I reported on my brand new Hamilton Beach Michael Graves Design Coffee Maker. I was so very excited about it. You see, I did not have buying a new coffee maker on my agenda. My husband accidentally broke my carafe on my old coffee maker and felt so badly, he ran out and bought me a new one.

His selection proved to be an impeccable one. The design was modern with neutral colors, and excellent functionality.

The Hamilton Beach Michael Graves Design Coffeemaker

I have had it now for a few months shy of two years and I wanted to let you know, I am still in love. The honeymoon has not yet ended and we are really no worse for the wear.

I just recently broke it down and washed it up, as I have many times before, and thatís when it really struck me. Just how easy it was to focus on any individual part. The water reservoir comes right off, the coffee filter holder not only fits quite snugly in its designated spot, it comes right out for a quick clean up whenever needed.

The programmable feature is so very nice, allowing me to have my coffee hot, ready and waiting whenever it is convenient for me.

The only thing I notice after almost two years is that it tends to drip a few drops of water here and there causing the hot plate to look a bit rusty or corroded, but it has otherwise not affected the functionality of the coffee maker, the plate, or the look (since generally the pot is sitting there). It is nothing to end the relationship over.

If you are in the market for a new coffee maker, now or in the future, please do consider the Hamilton Beach-Michael Graves Design Coffee Maker. Almost two years in, our relationship is still going strong.

Replacement Carafes

Very often after purchasing a coffee maker, you may find that when you need a replacement carafe, as I did on my earlier model, not only is it difficult to find, it is expensive. Not so on either count for the Hamilton Beach Michael Graves coffee maker. I just checked Target online and found one for $13.99.

Please read my original review for more details on the features.
