Holiday Fatloss Workouts

Holiday fatloss workouts can keep you lean, energized, and stress free even when you're super busy with travel or parties. Follow these 5 easy strategies and avoid holiday weight gain.

1. Stick to circuit training.
If you typically enjoy longer workouts that focus in on one thing such as cardio or strength training, or flexibility, then this is the time to group it all together into a shorter circuit workout that will save you time. The big bonus is your body will respond positively to the change and you may end up burning more fat and calories then you normally would simply because you are doing something different.

2. Keep your workouts short but do them daily.
Nothing beats daily fat burning especially when you do it first thing in the morning. Focusing on 10-30 minutes of daily activity boosts metabolism, promotes better eating habits, and reduces stress which in turn reduces fat storage hormones. My favorite 10 minute workouts is push-ups, lunges, jump rope, and ball crunches. 2-3 circuits of 10-15 reps is all it takes.

3. Don't skip workouts when traveling.
Sitting around at airports and in planes, trains, or automobiles drains your energy and virtually shuts down your metabolism. Reverse the effects of sitting for long periods of time with fun activities. Offer to walk the family pet, play frisbee with all those bored little kids (their parents will worship you for this), wash the cars like the dad in "home for the holidays".

4. Supplement your workouts with vitamins and immune system support.
All that decorating, cooking, shopping, and travel can be stressful and lowers your immune system. A lower immune system means your body burns less fat and calories . Taking a multi-vitamin along with immune support can help.

5. Stay properly hydrated with electrolyte drinks.
It's important to stay hydrated but drinking too much water can actually deplete electrolytes and minerals causing you to feel fatigued, dizzy, queasy, and like you have the flu. If you aren't feeling 100% and you're not exactly sick you might have a hydration problem. Try a supplement drink like Alacer that has no sugar. It can help maintain energy levels while running around and this helps your body burn more fat.
