All-American Crochet Afghan Review

I love afghans, I am sure you have guessed this much. I love to get comfy under a beautifully stitched afghan. So here is another review of another collection of afghans. All-American Crochet Afghans edited by Laura Scott is a really nice collection of afghans. The sections are divided up by regions of the U.S.A.

The New England Beauty chapter has nine afghans. This is my least favorite chapter. I believe it may be the colors used in the examples. Some of the stitches are beautiful but not so keen on the bright color combinations used.

The Eastern Style chapter has seven afghans. I enjoyed making the City Blocks afghan. I changed the colors to a country theme and loved the look of chocolate, pink, and tan. There are several in this chapter that I am thinking of gifting.

The Waves of Grain has eight afghans. There is only one pattern I am interested in doing out of these eight afghans. The Colorful Blocks afghan would be beautiful in a toddlers or young child’s room.

The Southern Hospitality has eight afghan patterns. I really enjoy this chapter a lot. Sunny Days is a beautiful pattern using granny squares. I also loved doing the Lacy Delight baby afghan. It has a delicate, victorian feel to it. It would make a beautiful baby shower gift.

The Rocky Mountain High chapter has seven afghans. If you like the rugged mountain look these are the afghans for you. Nice thick, chunky afghans to keep you warm on those mountain nights.

The Painted Desert has ten afghans. This is my favorite chapter in All-American Crochet Afghans . The Navajo Blanket is going in my hope chest when I get it done. The Saguaro Print is on my to-do list. Pueblo Vistas is on my wish list.

The Northwest Passage has seven afghans just waiting to be stitched. This chapter gives you the feel of beaches and boating. There are many beautiful afghans in this chapter.

There are seven afghans in the final chapter Pacific Breezes. This chapter also has a beachy feel to several of the afghans. For me though, in this chapter, the Floral Parade stills the show.

All-American Crochet Afghans has a total of sixty-three afghans. There is something for every taste, every home decor you could think of. There are house warming gifts, baby shower gifts, wedding gifts and even Christmas gifts. There is enough to keep your fingers stitching for years in this book.

If you have this book and have stitched some of the afghans let me know what you think on our forum.
