Stuff To Spy For

In Stuff to Spy For, Don Bruns continues his successful comedic mystery series with this third book starring bumbling spies James Lessor and Skip Moore. Always dreaming they will someday hit it big, the two come up with a scheme that seems doable. Skip becomes employed at Synco Systems installing a state-of-the-art security system. Along with a huge bonus comes a side job. He must pretend to be the boyfriend of his old high school friend Sarah, a company employee who is having an affair with Synco's married president, Sandler Conroy.

Skip and his best friend James have held a string of dead end jobs while living as roommates in a ratty looking apartment in Carol City, Florida. The two decide to use their rattle-trap box truck as a spy mobile in order to keep tabs on the dirty details at Synco. They manage to gather together some sophisticated spy equipment and go into the business.

They have an opportunity to begin receiving additional income from the wife of the company's president when she requests they provide her with information as to what is going on at the company, and in her husband's personal life.

As anyone who has read the two previous books know, when these two get together anything can happen.

Author Don Bruns is an award-winning novelist who writes these Florida-based stories with great humor. His two main characters are the epitome of the buddy stories seen both in movies and print. Even when the topic is serious, the reader cannot help but laugh at the protagonists antics as they get into one situation after another.

Written in first-person narrative from Skip’s point of view, the reader gains a first hand look at life from the budding entrepreneur’s perspective. And what a skewed viewpoint that can be.

This novel is full of intrigue, twisted relationships, danger and deception. It is also a great read that will provide more than one laugh out loud moment. Here’s hoping Mr. Bruns has more Skip and James stories in his writing quiver.

Along with the other Skip and James novels, Stuff Dreams Are Made Of and Stuff to Die For, Bruns wrote the Sever Music series and was contributor to Death Dines In anthology and editor and contributor to A Merry Band of Murderers, also an anthology.

A special thanks goes to Oceanview Publishing for providing a complimentary review copy of Stuff To Spy For. This novel is available for purchase at Amazon.com.
