Board Games in Small Spaces

If you have a lot of board games or only a few board games, storing them can present a few challenges. Board games take up space. Large boxes can occupy a lot of shelf space. You can find a solution for your board games that will keep them readily available for game night.

Living in a smaller home or apartment has many challenges. Usually storage is very minimal. Closets are few and small. Too many bookshelves can overpower a room. You will want to keep your board games close to the action. So that means you want a storage solution for either the living room or the kitchen.

An ottoman not only serves as additional seating but is a great storage solution for board games. Ottomans come in a variety of sizes, so you can find one to fit your space and your board games. An ottoman also gives an additional playing area for games.

People who live in a small space should evaluate just how much they use the items in their house. Go through your kitchen and see what you actually use. You may make cabinet room for board games. Games will be close at hand especially if you play at the kitchen table.

Under the bed can be utilized with long, plastic storage boxes. They are made to fit under the bed and can store a number of board games. The storage boxes keep other items from being shoved under the bed, too. These clear containers also make it easy to find the right box.

Closets are usually pretty full. Add a top shelf for board games if you do not already have one. This wasted space can be utilized to store games. It is perfect since it will keep the games in sight and out of the way.

For those with a lot of board games and not a lot of inside storage options, consider keeping certain games handy. Store the rest of your games in boxes. You can rotate them out every few months. This way you will have some of your favorite games close at hand and ready to play. You will save space since it will not be your entire board game collection.

Even if your storage options are limited, you can make space for board games. Just evaluate your items in storage locations and get rid of the stuff you no longer use. You will free up some space for your board games and make game night a little easier.
